Mirage cost too much - Gimp is a very good idea - i think it works

I tried with some programs to paint over the exported PGN files - but in some programs they lose the transparency of the background in other programs after reimporting the pgn files they have a white shape....painting over with ArtRage is possible - but can somebody tell me a program to use , where ...
