GCharb wrote:As far as hiding parts of the body goes, usually You build parts on different layers, so that You can use layer order animation to hide them.
This makes me curious, is it possible to animate the layer order? So that the visibility order of layers changes during the animation?

Thanks, that was a couple of tips I will use! But about the animation style, in this one I really want to have smooth bending of the body. For "stiff" cutout I'm a long time user of other software (Celaction2D) that performs it better, I must say. So here is an image of what I'm trying to ...

Controlled bones? (referring to Luggage guy!)

Hi, I have a character (discussed in another thread - now drawn in AS with vectors only - thanks slowtiger for pushing me :)) that I'm looking for a good way to setup for animation. It is in shape quite similar to the Luggage Guy in the library (which Selgin told me about). I've spent a lot of time ...

Thanks neon22, that was a very clear answer. This was unfortunate, as it is a huge drawback for the software. This is a very basic and important function when animating. It would also be very easy to implement - multi selection of layers could be as easy as just ctrl-clicking the layers you want to ...

The sequencer moves the entire layer. I just want to move a little part of the animation. I'll try to be clearer: Let's say I have a lot of animation on the first 5 seconds. Then on 6:00 the character raises his head, blinks and flaps his ears. This movement involves 20 keyframes on six layers. I'm ...

Beginners question: See several layers simultaneously?

Hi, when testing I have learned that only the selected layers keyframes are visible in the timeline. This is sometimes good for clarity, but what about when you want to see several layers simultaneously? For example: I have done a nice movement that involves keyframes on three layers. Now I want tha...

Doesn't seem to be a problem with the photoshop export, I re-imported them and they look good.
Here are two of the layers, as exported from PS:

I'm continuing my testing here... How about importing from Illustrator? Would the variable line widhts (lines drawn with the brush tool) follow into AS? I'm pretty familiar with AI, so that could be an option. And the result from Vector Magic was great! Does eps import well to AS? (Can not try this ...

Slowtiger, you mentioned re-creating this in AS instead. I wouldn't mind that, but I find it extremely difficult to do. I'm very much a bitmap person and not very used to vectors... What approach would you use to keep the style of the design? Import and trace? It's important to keep the style of the...
