According to Chalk, the animators use a combination of Moho (formerly known as Anime Studio), traditional hand-drawn layouts and effects, together with After Effects for the final compositing process.

Interesting news, and I keep an eye on blender new features for 2D animation, but reading the article it seems like they are just going to use blender instead of 3ds Max only for 3D purposes, not for the 2D animation like I thought reading the title. I just googled for one, so I can't recommend it seriously yet. It was "Revo Uninstaller Pro". I used a 30 days trial and it worked perfectly.
