Yes thats true but not very intuitive,I find it much easier to move a pivot as you would in illustrator and then see the result as you rotate rather than rotating points around a averaged centre and then having to re-aline them.
just a thought.

I see now that when you select the rotate tool a centre of rotation for the selected points is shown but you can`t seem to move it.
Being able to select points and move where the centre of rotation is would
be very useful.
