AFAIK XP is from around 2001, almost as old as (or older than) the first version of OSX (10.0). That's true, but it's been patched severely. My point was simply that Linux distributions have improved immensely over the three years since vivified has used it. My mistake was thinking that Windows had...

OSX is a good operating system. I'm a designer turned web developer and I do all my development at work in OSX - because it's much better than Windows for window management. Linux is even better but if I would have taken your advice and limited myself to The Only Question, I never would have known t...

You can also support free software while still using Windows. In many ways, supporting open document formats on all platforms is a greater contribution to freedom. However, I love GNU/Linux and have been using it exclusively for three years - I started out with an attitude similar to yours. There ar...

You might also try Flash Optimizer. It has lots of settings for optimizing a swf without an associated fla. It's probably pretty perfect for Moho, though I don't have any personal experience with it.

If you're on a mac and use the quicktime format, there's an Apple Uncompressed codec. That really is uncompressed. In commercial animations you would render to frames in a lossless format and bring it into a compositing program (this has been mentioned many times on the forum). Outputting to a compr...

I'm glad you like it. I laugh at it also, but it's strange because I really hate him. As I've been showing it to people I've found that they want an explanation. It's upsetting because I _think_ this comes from an automatic assumption about an artist's work being something that they desire. For inst...

I actually brought this up in another thread. I wanted a piece of software to emulate a lunchbox. Here's the thread:
